Be ready to respond to a cardiac arrest with the ZOLL AED 3 fully automatic defibrillator
About the ZOLL AED 3 fully automatic defibrillator
The AED 3 from Zoll has two variations; the semi-automatic and this fully automatic version which analyses the patient’s heart to decide when a shock should be delivered rather than waiting for the person giving CPR the push the button. This makes the AED 3 fully automatic defibrillator particularly good for workplaces and community locations where it can be used by people who may not have the confidence to use a semi-automatic defibrillator.
Why this defibrillator?
The AED 3 Fully Automatic Defibrillator is one of the most innovative and easy to use defibrillators available. Its full colour display screen providing essential CPR information and feedback, universal electrode pads for any age, and fully automatic rhythm analysis and shock delivery make it the right choice for responders who may need more help and guidance in an emergency than a semi-automatic defibrillator would provide. The fully automatic feature means that once the pads are attached to casualty and the defibrillator has analysed their rhythm, the device will decide when a shock should be delivered, warn bystanders not to touch the casualty, and deliver the shock.
Benefits of the ZOLL AED 3
The benefits of the AED Plus are:
Enhanced Real CPR™ Help, a full-colour display screen with visual and audio instructions, CPR cycle timer, and CPR compression depth feedback to help responders deliver the best CPR.
RapidShock Analysis™, the industry’s shortest rhythm analysis enabling faster shock delivery.
CPR Uni-padz™ electrodes, single set of pads can be used on both adults and children.
WiFi connectivity, can automatically report readiness to an online AED management programme.
5-year shelf life for pads and batteries, making the defibrillator ready for longer and reducing the lifetime cost.
Status indicator, shows if the AED 3 is ready to respond to a cardiac emergency.
USB port, transfer cardiac episode data with ease.
Also available as a semi-automatic model.
What else will you need:
Cabinet or wall bracket to hold your defibrillator
Defibrillator sign and poster to make the defibrillator easy to find in an emergency
Robust, reliable, and ready to respond
The Zoll AED Plus fully automatic defibrillator has proven itself as a robust and reliable defibrillator for workplaces and communities that need a defibrillator they can rely on.
Each device is thoroughly tested to ensure it can withstand being dropped during use and still continue to work. It has an Ingress Protection rating of 55, meaning it keeps out dust and water, and its daily self-test feature checks that the batteries are in full working order. The batteries will last for five years in standby mode and the CPR-D padz have a shelf-life of 5 years. The defibrillator has a 5 year warranty, which can be extended to seven years when registered with the manufacturer.
Lifesaving technology
The AED Plus features Real CPR Help® which provides audio and visual feedback on the CPR being performed on the patient to help the responder achieve the optimum depth and rate of chest compressions. Having this kind of real-time feedback during CPR has been shown to improve the quality of the help given.
The one-piece CPR-D-padz make it quick and easy to apply the pads to someone having a cardiac arrest. Simply place the pads onto the body and pull the tabs to expose the conductive gel on each pad. This limits the chance of gel contamination as it is only exposed when it is in direct contact with the skin. The pads can be used on adults or children which takes away the need to have different pads.
The back-lit display screen presents the elapsed time and number of shocks delivered, critical information needed by emergency services, along with simultaneous text with every audio prompt and a circle of lighted graphical icons that show the responder what to do.

Creating a nation of life savers
Defibrillators save lives. For the 30,000 people who have out-of-hospital cardiac arrests ever year, quickly receiving CPR and an electric shock from a defibrillator gives them the best chance of survival. If a defibrillator is used within four minutes it can increase the person’s chances of survival by three quarters. This is why getting defibrillators into workplaces, communities and public spaces is so important.
You can help to make the UK a country where more people survive cardiac arrest by learning CPR and getting a defibrillator for your local community or workplace.
